On March 3rd, the annual grade 8 girl’s basketball tournament was held at St. Joseph’s Catholic High School. The first game St. Joe’s played ended in a tough loss against Eganville, but they pulled together and won against AJ Charbonneau 22-10. They then took on Walter Zadow, and lost a very close game 12-10.
St. Joe’s advanced to the quarter finals, and played St.Joseph’s Arnprior. It was another close game, but St. Joseph’s Arnprior ended up coming out strong and winning 6-2.
Teams that participated in the tournament are; Walter Zadow, Eganville District Public School (EDPS) A.J. Charbonneau, St. Joseph’s Arnprior, McNab Public School, Renfrew Collegiate Institute (RCI), St. James, and Cobden Public School.
The grade 8 girl’s played some excellent basketball and improved as every game progressed.. Team members are; Ella Guckes, Abby Hall, Jocelyn Virgin, Kim Carter, Kayla Hintz, Emma Crozier, Victoria Hartwick, Karley Meilleur, Mackenzie Curry, Jaycee Blackburn, and Rachela Bertrand.
